EGYPT [8 NIGHTS / 9 DAYS ] :

Day 01 : Arrival

Arrival to Egypt met and assisted at the airport. Possibility of optional Sound & Light. Transfer to hotel & overnight.

Day 2 : Cairo

Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, an archaeological site on the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. This complex of ancient monuments includes the three pyramid complexes known as the Great Pyramids, the massive sculpture known as the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village and an industrial complex. Free time for shopping Transfer to hotel & overnight.

Day 3 : Cairo

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo which is the first and most important in the world. It contains the world’s most extensive collection of Pharaonic antiquities; no visit to Egypt is complete without a trip through its galleries where the treasures of King Tut Ankhamon are exhibited, & Khan El Khalili. Transfer to railway station Dinner & overnight on sleeping train.

Day 4 : Aswan Wednesday or Friday Arrival at Aswan

Visit the Temple of Philae & High Dam. The Egyptian island of Philae was the center for worship of the goddess Isis and attracted pilgrims from all over the ancient world. The original island is now completely submerged under the waters of Lake Nasser. But in a spectacular rescue operation, the great temples and monuments of Philae were pulled out of the water and re-erected on a nearby island, now renamed Philae. The largest and most important temple on Philae is the great Temple of Isis, which is oriented south to north. It was entered on the south through the Hall of Nectanebo. Transfer by private bus to the boat and accommodation in cabins Lunch box during the visit or late lunch. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 5 :

Full Board. Begin early sailing around 04:00 AM until Kom Ombo. Upon arrival Visit the Temple of the two Gods’ Horus and Sobek at Kom Ombo. The temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to two gods, Horus the falcon and Sobek the crocodile, and has the special feature of the duplication of all parts of the temple itself: double entry, double sanctuary, and so on.

At the end of the visit back on board and started sailing to Edfu. Upon arrival in Edfu visit the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the god Horus. Built during the Ptolemaic temple of Edfu is the best preserved of all Egypt, and is the classic example of the Egyptian temple, where all the components, from the pylon at the entrance to the sanctuary, are perfectly legible. The reliefs on the walls depict important moments in the religious life of the ancient Egyptians, the ritual foundation of the struggle of Horus, the god to whom the temple is dedicated, against Seth, the murderer of Osiris god and symbol of the forces of chaos and disorder.

In both temples, pads, in excellent condition, offering a beautiful example of Ptolemy, where, lost the classical era Pharaonic Egyptian art is open to new solutions, derived from the encounter with Greek civilization, which produce results of great beauty. Sail to Esna and then sail to Luxor.

Day 6 :

Full Board. Morning Visit of the Necropolis of Thebes on the West Bank of the Nile: the Valleys of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, we see the Colossi of Memnon.

The west bank of Luxor, is the area dedicated to funerary structures, because the West, the place where the sun sets, it was considered the land of the dead and the entrance to the afterlife. Here the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were made to dig their graves in the rock and decorated it with beautiful paintings; here Queen Hatshepsut built his mortuary temple, the Sublime of the Sublime, extremely bold architectural and disconcerting modernity; here the Colossi of Memnon, lonely sentinels, witness the glory and splendor of the distant past. Return to the boat, lunch In the afternoon we visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Luxor is the modern name of the ancient Uaset called Thebes by the Greeks, the beautiful capital during the New Kingdom and the seat of the two temples of Luxor and Karnak. The temple of Luxor, a jewel of Egypt, built by Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II, surprised by the harmony of proportions and the elegance of its findings; Karnak temple is fascinating for its grandeur and complexity, many details of great interest, from the huge Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 136 columns towering over 20 meters, the elegant obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut, the “Ballroom”. Day 7 : Luxor – Cairo – Alexandria

Breakfast buffet on board Transfer to airport for flight to Cairo. Arrive Cairo Airport, departure to Alexandria. Transfer to hotel & overnight.

Day 8 : Alexandria – Cairo

Today it is the great and beautiful city; Alexandria has been for centuries the cultural capital city of the ancient world: enough to think of its two famous buildings, the Library and the Lighthouse. The city counts today over three million inhabitants and it is stretched along its bay for over 20 km. Visit to the catacombs of Kom esh Shuqafa, (meaning “Mound of Shards”) is a historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the middle Ages. The necropolis consists of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and archaeological objects of the Pharaonic funeral cult with Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences. View of Citadel of Qait bay from out side. Visit the library of Alexandria, masterpiece of the modern architecture. The Library of Alexandria was reborn in October 2002 to reclaim the mantle of its ancient namesake. It is not just an extraordinarily beautiful building; it is also a vast complex where the arts, history, philosophy, and science come together. Moreover, the myriad activities it offers have made it a place for open discussion, dialogue, and understanding. At the end of the visits depart for Cairo. Transfer to hotel & overnight.

Day 9 : Departure

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Cairo airport for international flight.
